Friends of the Library

Who We Are

The Friends of the Canton Public Library is a group of interested citizens dedicated to supporting and enhancing library services in Canton.  As a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, the Friends' goals are to:

  • Build a membership of citizens who support the Library
  • Encourage the use of library services
  • Spotlight the value of the Library in the life of our community
  • Expand the resources of the Library through fundraising
  • Sponsor programs and cultural activities for children and adults

What We Do

The Friends' fundraising and volunteer efforts allow the Library to purchase equipment, programs, services, and items for its collection outside of its municipal operating budget.

Specifically:

  • The Museum Pass Program
  • The Open Book Coffeehouse
  • OWL video conferencing equipment
  • Maker Space Equipment (3D Printer, etc.)
  • The Electronic Message Board
  • Public Performance Licenses to show Films
  • Lobby Display Cases
  • Gaming Systems
  • The "Best Friends" statuary
