Computer Resources


The library has 28 workstations available for browsing the internet. Eight of these computers are located in the Junior Room and may only by used by children in grades k-7. The Library also has one machine dedicated to VHS video transfer, another dedicated to microflim reading and printing, another dedicated to transferring files from 3 1/2" floppy disk and another connected to a flatbed scanner.

All the computers in the Reference Room, 8 in the Computer Center and 4 in the Young Adult Room have Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Firefox, and Chrome.

The library also has 6 Chromebook laptops which can be signed out on a valid library card and used anywhere in the building.

All users of the internet are bound by the library

Patron Use of Library Workstations
Adult Library
  1. A valid OCLN library card is required to log into the Library workstations in the Reference Room, Computer Center, and Young Adult Room. Library staff will not look up library card numbers for the purpose of using library workstations.
  2. Headphones may only be checked out with a valid library card for the patron borrowing them. Staff reserves the right to not check out headphones without library card and/or ID.
  3. There is a 180 minute maximum per user per day limit on the use of workstations.
  4. No more than two users may sit at a single station.
  5. Electronic copies can be made only to floppy disk machine (1), email, or flash drive. Flash drives are available at the Reference Desk for $5.
  6. The Print Station is available from all workstations at $.15 per page black and white and $.50 per page in color. Make note of the number of pages to be printed before sending your print job to the Print Station. Please confer with staff about using print preview as we cannot offer refunds for misprinted / unwanted pages.
  7. Library staff can offer only limited assistance with specific technical questions about email and other software.
  8. There is one dedicated scanning machine which can be used free of charge. There is no charge for scanning items. Scans can be saved to flash drive or email. Scanned pages print to the reference print release station and incur same price charged from other computers.
  9. No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the Library.
  10. Please be courteous to other library patrons. Turn off cell phones when in the library and make calls outside or in the vestibule.
  11. Workstations are turned off 10 minutes before the library is closed. Please plan your work accordingly
Children's Library
The same rules apply to the children's computer workstation with the following exceptions.
  1. Workstations in the Children's Library may be used by children in grades K - 7 only. Users must log into machines using their library card.
  2. There is a 1-hour per user per day limit on the children's workstations.
  3. Please pay $.15 per page black and white and $.50 per page of color at the Children's Welcome Desk.
