Boston Public Library offers a free eCard to Massachusetts residents, providing a variety of services.

Borrow a Grab and Go Chromebook

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Canton Public Library, the Canton Public Library now has Chromebooks and WiFi Hotspots available to borrow together. The Hotspot will connect you to High Speed Broadband Internet and unlimited data for up to 10 devices, and the Chromebook's camera and microphone can Zoom Meetings, Email and anything else you can find online.

Canton Reads 2022

Canton Reads! is an opportunity for residents of Canton to read the same book at the same time and to participate in discussions and activities, sharing and learning together.

Inter-library Loan

You can place a hold on items at other OCLN libraries and have them sent to the Canton Library. When you can't find a book in the OCLN network we suggest that you contact a librarian If it is not available through OCLN you can place an ILL request through the Reference Desk staff.

Local History & Genealogy

We offer researchers access to materials in the Edward Bolster Local History Room, as well as a variety of local history and genealogy resources and databases, both in the library and online. Stop by the Reference Desk during regular library hours to get started, or use our digital resources to conduct your research online!

Newspapers & Magazines

The Library subscribes to over 200 popular magazines and newspapers in print. All but the current issue are available for loan. Additionally, over 500 titles are available for download to your digital devices through Zinio. Magazine and journal research, see our Research - Subscription Databases page.

Reference Services

The Reference Department is open all hours the library is open. We are available for reference questions, help with searching the OCLN catalog for books, ILL (InterLibrary Loan Requests), document delivery, Internet searching, general inquiries, and other researching requests.

Items which are not held by any Old Colony Library Network library can be delivered here from any public library in Massachusetts and many libraries in the UMASS system. Ask a librarian for help or make requests on your own.
